Skin cancer cases are growing at an alarming rate globally. In fact, 1 in 5 people will get skin cancer, but only 3% of the high risk population is known by the health authorities. At SkinVision, we are on a mission to save the lives of 250,000 people in the next ten years by revolutionizing skin care management. Our technology allows users to take ownership of their skin health, recognizing (early) signs of skin cancer from anywhere, at any time by combining the recommendations of AI and dermatologists.

Data Analysis at SkinVision

We are on the lookout for a Senior Data Analyst based in our Amsterdam office with exceptional skills and experience that will ensure the data analysis team provides relevant analyses and insights into our data, which is vital to our core business stakeholders. The ideal candidate will possess a strong expertise in data analysis and visualization, with hands-on experience in SQL, Python/R, Git and visualization tools such as Looker/Tableau, along with a great business understanding and ability to manage stakeholders and more junior team members. Knowledge of the Cloud (AWS), data orchestration tools (Apache Airflow) and dbt are a plus!

Responsibilities

  • Partner with stakeholders to comprehend business requirements and translate them into actionable data analysis and reporting solutions.

  • Utilize advanced data visualization tools to create visually compelling and interactive dashboards, visualizations and reports for stakeholders throughout the organization.

  • Perform deep-dive analysis on large and intricate data sets, unearthing patterns, trends and actionable insights that drive strategic business decisions and optimizations.

  • Collaborate closely with our stakeholders (eg product, marketing, medical) to identify key performance metrics and implement comprehensive tracking mechanisms for robust product analytics.

  • Execute data cleansing, manipulation and transformation techniques to ensure high-quality, reliable data for analysis.

  • Design and implement scalable data models and schemas that facilitate efficient data analysis and reporting leveraging data visualization tools (e.g., Looker or equivalent).

  • Stay abreast of the latest industry standards, best practices, and emerging trends in data analysis and product analytics, and share insights with the broader team.

Job requirements

Education and experience

  • 5-8 years of proven professional experience as a Data Analyst or similar role, showcasing exceptional proficiency in data visualization, in-depth analyses, gathering data insights, data modeling, stakeholder management and teamwork/mentoring.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Econometrics, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field.

Skills

  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.

  • Mastery of data visualization tools or platforms, enabling the creation of sophisticated visualizations, dashboards and reports that effectively communicate complex insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in programming languages like Python (or R) for data manipulation, analysis and advanced statistical modeling.

  • Strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to extract actionable insights from intricate datasets.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the capacity to effectively convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.

  • Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Experience with mentoring more junior team members.
